Data Interpretation

Data Interpretation : The word 'data' is, originally, a plural form of the Latin word 'datum' which means 'a known, assumed or conceded fact from which an inference can be made. Thus, the word data, which is now construed (interpreted) as a singular noun, means facts or figures from which conclusions may be drawn. The word interpretation, the noun form of the verb 'interpret' means 'an explanation' of the meaning of something. Thus, an interpretation of data is not merely a description or statement of statistics and facts but the particular way in which they are understood or explained.

Although the word limit of 80 – 100 words in the question on data interpretation does not leave much scope for a detailed analysis of the given data, students are required to summarise the data.
